LD PRIME LIVE (an e concert}

A PANDEMIC THAT CHANGED LIVES IN A COMMUNITY

This is a story of a disaster called COVID 19, a pandemic that caused lockdown in the world, and a community turned it to an opportunity to unearth new talents and change the lockdown to a most productive holiday. Check this out.

It all started with a virus that blew lives out of gear. Videos and pictures of the virus attacking Chinese were the first to come on air. Incurable disease COVID 19 killed many in the world and the bodies were dumped in masses.

Sudden lockdown due to pandemic brought life to a halt around the world . All movement stopped. Everyone stayed inside their homes to safeguard their dear ones. Roads looked empty and deserted. This was a shock unexplained to many. Children were partly happy that they need not go to school or is there any homework tension, partly unhappy that they could not play outside or meet their friends. They were in a dilemma, why the parents are always there at home. Our gated community with 1000 residents is no exception. Ours is a gated community where people from all parts of the country live. We were asked to stay indoors, Groceries and vegetables were brought inside the community to purchase. Residents were so upset that morning walks, visiting neighbours were stopped. It was a nightmare.

This being the situation, over a period of time, people started getting panic if they will lose their jobs. Some of them went into depression and anxiety. Person like me who keeps myself active, could not take it anymore. Conceived an idea of a mock TV show with some news reading, advertisements and concert. Quickly had a zoom meeting with few active residents. We agreed to come together and take up the challenge. We planned to engage the community initially with an e concert that can keep everyone busy forgetting their own workload and stress of being house arrested. All that the residents had to do was to sing a song of their choice and send the video. Both senior citizens and youngsters participated with all enthusiasm.  Vocal music and instrumental music were encouraged. Their singing were never judged. These videos are edited and collaged in the form of a single video for 30 minutes to begin with. Later made to a complete TV show adding some flavour like news reading , anchoring and advertisement.  It worked pretty well since the entertainment industry closed for any new project.

It's a mock TV show but seriously challenging episodes in the times of lockdown. no production cost no running around for selecting location at the cost of producer, no casting couch, no search of theatres to release. Used bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and balconies to do the magic. We had Larger audiences for this show as we hosted it in our community YOUTUBE and made it open for public viewing. Reach was unlimited. Community testimonials are proof of how we managed the show until lockdown 1.0 was announced.

IF THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY. Finally, pandemic taught us how to survive even in most difficult times. Life looked normal by interacting with each other in the name of this concert. Produced 12 episodes running on weekends for two months. This one hour episodes showcased new talents, gave a few the confidence to come open and this was highly appreciated. Our show was a stress buster to the comm unity. Last two episodes have testimonies also. Every episode is better than the previous.
